Joseph George Shadid is a Peoria native who has been pursuing his music career since childhood. He spent much of his youth performing around Peoria with longtime friend and songwriting partner, Evan Hand. Joe left his hometown to study music at Berklee College Of Music in Boston. At Berklee, he refined his skills, focusing on performance, songwriting, and film scoring. Upon leaving school, Joe moved to Chicago, where he has since written and produced two records with his rock band, Big Paraid, a band that performs at some of Chicago’s finest rock clubs, including House Of Blues, Metro, Lincoln Hall, and Double Door.

Most recently, Joe has written and recorded a brand new debut solo record. This record, self-titled ‘Joe George,’ is filled with lush colors and patient space. It is a collection of thoughtful, empathetic songs that deal with reflection, conflict, and simple wonder. The songs are recorded with mostly acoustic instruments, including piano, acoustic guitar, upright bass, drums, and even a string quartet. For more information visit
