Peoria Civic Center Authority Board March Meeting


April 2nd  (Peoria, IL) – The Peoria Civic Center Authority Board met on Thursday, March 27th 2014 at the Peoria Civic Center. The meeting opened with the approval of the minutes from the January meeting and the approval of the consent agenda.

SMG General Manager of the Peoria Civic Center, Jim Wetherington, then gave his report which included information on events held in February and March of 2014. Snow continued to be a factor in attendance for Peoria Civic Center Events into March; however the facility still held multiple successful events. The annual Official Spring Home Show and Central Illinois Recreational Vehicle show were back to back weekends, bringing in attendees from around central Illinois looking to prepare for spring and summer projects and vacations. Bradley University wrapped their season and the Peoria Rivermen Hockey Team continued into the first round of the playoffs.


The finance committee reported that during the month of February the Peoria Civic Center hosted 62 event days, which was 2 more than budgeted and 65,695 people attended events in the facility.  It was also reported that ticketed events held at the Peoria Civic Center in the month of January generated $ 1,940,074.92 in economic impact for the community

The next Peoria Civic Center Authority Board Meeting will be held on April 24th at 4pm at the Peoria Civic Center in room 405.
