Peoria Civic Center Experiences Its Own Version of March Madness

April 2, 2014 (Peoria, IL) – During the month of March, the SMG managed Peoria Civic Center experienced the true meaning of “March Madness.” Having held over 70 event days, the Peoria Civic Center provided an outstanding experience for a total of over 94,000 people.

Last month, the Peoria Civic Center offered something for everyone. The Central Illinois RV Show kicked off the month and attracted thousands of individuals, showing off a variety of boats, motorcycles, RV products, and more. Jim Gaffigan livened up the month with two of his hilarious comedy performances, sharing his humor with central Illinois. Crosby, Stills, & Nash took the stage and blew the audience away with their legendary collection of hits. Hunter Hayes, Danielle Bradbery, and Dan + Shay rounded out the month with an audience filled with screaming girls attending the “I’m Not Invisible” tour.

IHSA events were a huge hit in central Illinois. With 2 tournaments, 2 weeks of the March Madness Experience, an Access Field Trip Day, and the Scholastic Bowl tournament, the Peoria Civic Center attracted over 57,000 people.

SMG general manager of the Peoria Civic Center Jim Wetherington said, “Once again, March Madness was more than just a tag-line for the Peoria Civic Center, as fans from all over came through our doors. They enjoyed the finest young athletes in the state, as well as a wide variety of world class live entertainment.”
