Demolition of the Glass Arcade began.

The process to replace the ice plant began. The floor was cut into smaller sections to ensure a smooth load out. Once those pieces are removed, demo will continue to make way for the new system.

Arena
After the concrete was cut into 2 x 2 foot sections and hauled away, additional grinding took place to properly level the subfloor. This was essential to ensure the proper amount of new concrete would be poured and future ice will freeze evenly.
Trenches were dug to install piping to connect to the new chiller unit that will be placed in early August.
Once new piping is installed, precise measurements for the new custom build dashers will be taken. New dashers and glass will have a "seamless" look with fewer gaps and poles increasing visibility for fans and increasing player safety.

Arcade
Demolition of the preexisting arcade structure and concrete flooring has been completed. The rebuild has started with digging trenches for the new foundation and installing support pillars. Steel will arrive in August and additional above ground progress will become visible. A construction tunnel will be built to reopen guest access from the venue entry below the Marriott Hotel Skywalk into the lobby area outside the theater.

Arena
New piping has been installed, with 9 miles of pipe visible in the photos, which will connect to the chiller unit. The next steps are to add anchors for the new dasher system and then pour a 5-inch concrete layer on top.
A new CO2 chiller unit was installed to replace the outdated R22 unit. In addition, a new gas cooler was installed outside as part of the chiller system to help maintain cooling throughout the operation.

Arcade
Steel structures are currently being installed to support the guest walkway and future entrance area. This ongoing work will help define the pathway and create a welcoming, accessible entry point for guests once complete.
In addition, a new fence has been installed along Jefferson Avenue to improve pedestrian safety. This addition helps create a clear boundary between the roadway and pedestrian areas, reducing risk and guiding foot traffic along a safer route.

In addition to the Arena and the Arcade, fresh paint has been added to the exhibit halls and other convention center spaces.

Arena
Concrete was poured continuously over the course of a day and then cured for 30 days. Precise measurements for the new custom dashers were taken. Dashers were then manufactured, delivered and installed for the first time. Glass panels will be added into the dashers soon. Our staff has been hard at work with preparations to reopen the Arena for a concert on October 13 including extensive cleaning, inventory and general maintenance. We will begin our first "ice in" over the course of several days ahead of the Rivermen season opener on October 24. We are excited to welcome guests back into the Arena!

Arcade
We are now in Phase 2 of the construction project, which will continue through Fall 2027. The main steel support structures are in place and showcases the new shape and footprint of the arcade. The construction tunnel has opened, restoring guest access from the Marriott Hotel Skywalk into the venue near the Prairie Home Alliance Theater. The temporary Phase 1 entry on Monroe Street has closed for additional demolition of the remaining section of glass that will be replaced.
