Safety & Security

The safety and security of our patrons is our top priority. In accordance with public health and industry standards, Peoria Civic Center has implemented the following policies to ensure safe, enjoyable events for all guests.

Face Masks – Face coverings are recommended but are not required for guests who are fully vaccinated. All guests two years and older who are not fully vaccinated are required to wear a face covering at all times. Peoria Civic Center staff are required to wear face coverings.
Security Checkpoint – Guests will enter through metal detectors (electronic magnetometers), bags will be checked and guests will be required to remove hats and empty pockets of all items prior to scanning.
Clear Bags - Each guest will be allowed to carry in one (1) clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC bag that does not exceed 12” x 6” x 12” or one (1), one-gallon clear plastic bag. In addition to a clear plastic bag each guest will be allowed to carry in one (1) small clutch that does not exceed 4.5” x 6.5”. Diaper bags (with a child age 3 and under) and bags carrying medically necessary items will be allowed after a visual inspection inside the bag is completed by security.
No Re-Entry - Re-entry is not permitted for Theater or Arena events. Patrons who exit the venue for any reason, including to smoke, will not be allowed to re-enter the facility.
VenueShield – A comprehensive and industry-leading reopening program with protocols and procedures providing the highest levels of safety, security and consumer confidence.
• Enhanced cleaning of surfaces, high-touch areas and additional safety precautions such as social distancing and hand sanitizer stations.
• Some shows may restrict the use of phones or smart devices.

Please plan on arriving at all events with enough time to pass through security lines. Typically, doors open 1 hour prior to an event start time. Please refer to the individual event details for more information. The Peoria Civic Center is not responsible for any lost or stolen items.

An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 (corona virus) exists in any public place where people are present. COVID-19 is a contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death. By purchasing or otherwise accepting a ticket to an Event, you are acknowledging that an inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. By attending an Event, you and any guests voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19 and agree not to hold event organizers, venue operators, managers and venue owners and their agents and their contractors, liable for any COVID-19 illness or injury in connection with you or your guests’ attendance at an Event.


Mask Policy

Peoria Civic Center will follow guidelines set by the CDC, State of Illinois and local health departments.


Clear Bag Policy

Each guest will be allowed to carry in one (1) clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC bag that does not exceed 12” x 6” x 12” or one (1), one-gallon clear plastic bag. In addition to a clear plastic bag each guest will be allowed to carry in one (1) small clutch that does not exceed 4.5” x 6.5”.

Diaper bags (with a child age 3 and under) and bags carrying medically necessary items will be allowed after a visual inspection inside the bag is completed by security.


The following items are prohibited at the venue:

  • Bags/Purses larger than 4.5'' x 6.5''
  • Backpacks, duffel bags, suitcases, etc
  • Weapons of Any Type*
  • Banners
  • Illegal substances
  • Outside Food and Beverage
  • Pets / animals**
  • Beach Balls
  • Laser Pointers/pens
  • Video or Audio Recorders
  • Cameras with detachable lenses
  • Selfie Sticks
  • Unauthorized noisemakers
  • Stadium Seats
  • Fireworks
  • Frisbees
  • Helium Balloons
  • Electronic Cigarettes
  • Flasks
  • Mace
  • Signs larger than 24” x 24”
The Peoria Civic Center management reserves the right to prohibit any item from entering the premises. All patrons and their belongings are subject to search prior to entry and once inside the building. If a prohibited item is brought into the facility you can throw it away or take it to your car. The Peoria Civic Center will not hold any items.
*The Peoria Civic Centers definition of weapons includes but is not limited to the following: knives or blades of any length, metal nail files, chains longer than 6 inches not made of precious metals (i.e. platinum, gold or sterling silver), firearms (authentic or replicated, including toys), clubs or extendable batons, any type of chemical irritant spray, stun guns or Tasers, spiked or studded jewelry, brass knuckle or any other item that could likely be used as a weapon or may cause injury if thrown or used improperly.

**Service animals as defined by the American with Disabilities act are welcome.

Firearm and Concealed Handgun Policy

Firearms and/or concealed handguns with or without a license are NOT permitted at the Peoria Civic Center. If any guest arrives at the facility with a firearm, they will be instructed to return the weapon to their car.
Local, State, and Federal Law Enforcement Officers with proper ID are the only authorized persons to enter this facility with a firearm. Off duty officers will need to present their badge and photo ID; they will receive a wristband. Check in at the ADA/VIP entrance or the guest services desk.
The Peoria Civic Center does not have a weapons check-in. We will not take possession of any firarm under any circumstance. If you have questions regarding this policy, please contact Peoria Civic Center Security at 309-680-3682.

Locker Rental Policy and Agreement

  • All lockers are the property of Peoria Civic Center and are exclusively for the use of patrons during events. Peoria Civic Center reserves the right to open any locker should the need arise.
  • Firearms, alcohol, controlled substances, and other dangerous materials are prohibited.
  • Patrons should never store any valuables in lockers such as laptops, jewelry, or money.
  • Patrons should remove all items from the locker after the event is done that day. Failure to do so, will result in them being confiscated.
  • All items will be removed and disposed of the next business day.
  • A copy of your driver’s license or ID is required to rent a locker. A copy of your driver’s license or ID will be made by the Peoria Civic Center to identify who has rented the locker.
